Nolha was founded by mother and daughter Kim and Dechen Yeshi in 2007. The Tibetan Plateau’s first yak khullu atelier, Norlha celebrates the remarkable qualities of this remarkable fibre known for its softness and warmth. Committed to sustainable development, Norlha works with local artisans to create the world’s finest yak khullu scarves, clothing and homewares.

With a 100% yak wool warp and weft, its slightly rugged, densely soft weave is created by one artisan using a four-pedal loom. Khullu is the ultra-fine, downy undercoat that keeps yak insulated during harsh Tibetan winters. Each summer, the yak naturally shed this down, which is then carefully collected by hand.
